GJPW JRPW DIV-I

Week 1 Results / Standings

Wassup Levae world? I am going to attempt to keep this going each week on each level and both divisions along with a predictions thread each week. I will give my opinion on each game and hope that it will be entertaining and somewhat insightful to those outside of GJPW. So without any delay (already a week and a half late)&& Here we go.

FVAA Steelers @ NFAA Rattlers - The Steelers won a game that they should have&.though it was not exceptionally impressive against a team that is not very strong at all.
Outcome: 12-6 Steelers

SWAA Ravens @ WFL Wildcats- The Ravens did what they were supposed too against a very, very weak Wildcats team. This game did nothing to test the strength of the Ravens.
Outcome: 34-0 Ravens

NJSA Bengals @ AFA Warriors Why did those in power bring AFA to D-I? It is my prediction that they will be on a fast track back to D-II before you know it&&.or NJSA is just that good. I believe that AFA is just that bad.
Outcome: 32-0 Bengals

GPAA Trojans @ CFL Knights This was one of the better games to be played in the first week. Two solid programs that have strong bids for the post season&&.This was a great test to gauge were each one was at. Though I expected CFL to have a stronger showing than it did&&.
Outcome: 14-6 Knights

LSAA Redskins @ PFAA Cobras Another match-up that was a good match for each participant. The Cobras were on a lot of folks sleeper list and the Redskins find themselves in the hunt year end and year out. The Cobras have a lot of work to do if they plan to gain one of those top 2 div spots.
Outcome: 12-0 Redskins

MAA Tigers @ LSC Saints The Saints go from city champs at D-II last season to doormat this season. I know that the Tigers normally field a solid team but are they that good? Or are the Saints really that bad?
Outcome: 33-0 Tigers

Standings

RED DIV

1. LSAA Redskins 1-0 (0-0)
1. FVAA Steelers 1-0 (0-0)
3. GPAA Trojans 0-1 (0-0)
3. LSC Saints 0-1 (0-0)
3. WFL Wildcats 0-1 (0-0)
3. AFA Warriors 0-1 (0-0)

Blue DIV

1. SWAA Ravens 1-0 (0-0)
1. MAA Tigers 1-0 (0-0)
1. NJSA Bengals 1-0 (0-0)
1. CFL Knights 1-0 (0-0)
5. NFAA Rattlers 0-1 (0-0)
5. PFAA Cobras 0-1 (0-0)

GJPW PW DIV-I

Week 1 Results / Standings

The PW division in JAX will probably be tougher than most people think. GPAA is the early on favorite but MAA will be nipping on their heels. LSAA, SWAA and CFL should make some noise.

FVAA Falcons @ NFAA Raiders I really do not see either one of these two teams making a push for the post season. Both teams will treasure all of their wins.
Outcome: 6-0 Raiders

SWAA Hawks @ WFL Wildcats Two westside rivals faced off in a good test to see exactly where each other stood. The Wildcats were some peoples pick to make some noise this season (I was one of them). They were not impressive&..as for the Hawks&&their defense will keep them in a lot of games.
Outcome: 6-0 Hawks

NJSA Tigers @ AFA War Eagles This War Eagle team may be the best team at AFA pound for pound. The Tigers normally have a solid team. This was a good early season match up for both.
Outcome: 13-12 Tigers

GPAA Trojans @ CFL Knights 2 of the early on favorites&&&but there can be only one and that one is Grand Park. The team is stacked. CFL has some ballers but the Trojans are in a class by themselves
Outcome: 24-6 Trojans.

LSAA Renegades @ PFAA Cobras Another game that was a good gauge for each team. Both teams have a good chance at making the play. They were pretty evenly matched.
Outcome: 8-0 Renegades

MAA Tigers @ LSC Saints- The Saints will struggle this season. The Tigers should make the playoffs pretty easily.
Outcome: 24-6 Tigers

Standings

RED DIV
1. GPAA Trojans 1-0 (0-0)
1. LSAA Renegades 1-0 (0-0)
3. AFA War Eagles 0-1 (0-0)
3. WFL Wildcats 0-1 (0-0)
3. LSC Saints 0-1 (0-0)
Blue DIV
1. MAA Tigers 1-0 (0-0)
1. NJSA Tigers 1-0 (0-0)
1. SWAA Hawks 1-0 (0-0)
1. NFAA Raiders 1-0 (0-0)
5. FVAA Falcons 0-1 (0-0)
5. CFL Knights 0-1 (0-0)

GJPW JM DIV-I

Week 1 Results / Standings

In the first week doughnuts were a plenty and there were not any upsets in the first week. On paper, the Blue division would seem to be the stronger division with the defending S. E. regional champion leading the way. The division has 2 of the 3 teams to have defeated this SWAA team&.MAA & NJSA (in the regular season&..the other being NAA Cowboys). The Red division has a cakewalk for GPAA (they have met SWAA in the city championship the past 2 years) and the FVAA Tigers should be the num2 team. Word on the street is that NJSA should make big noise&.after a disappointing season last year at PW. I really believe that SWAA will win their 3rd city championship in 3 years but I think that the JM level at D-I will have some of the most exciting football played this season.

FVAA Tigers @ NFAA Rams The Tigers only had to travel 3 minutes to play the Rams&&.and it was pretty much a waste of time&&since the Tigers took over the Rams field and their Chicken Stand during their game. The Tigers are favored to make a push for the playoffs and they started off on the right foot. The Rams have just as much talent as any team in the city year end and year out&&..but are unable to ever showcase that talent and produce wins year end and year out&&.it will be another long season for the Rams.
Outcome: 32-0 Tigers

SWAA Falcons @ WFL Wildcats The defending City Champs started where they left off with a very easy win against the Wildcats. The Wildcats will need to step up their game if they are going to have a winning season.
Outcome: 25-0 Hawks

LSAA Rangers @ NJSA Bobcats The Bobcats have come back with a vengeance&..their dismantling of the Rangers was pretty impressive. The Bobcats were coming off of a disappointing 08 season after going undefeated at JPW (reg. season). This showing put everyone on notice that they are for real. Is the Rangers really that bad?
Outcome: 26-0 Bobcats

GPAA Jaguars @ CFL Knights - The Jaguars have finished runner up over the past 2 years&&&..will this be their year to win it all or will they have the same luck that NJSA had with MAA a few years back. The Knights were definitely the flavor of the season last season but something is different about CFL (as a whole). Will they be able to compete for a playoff spot?
Outcome: 30-0 Jags

MAA Tigers @ LSC Saints Bottom line&&the Saints should have stayed D-II. The Tigers were able to put up points in abundance and is looking to put everyone on notice that they are for real. They should be a major player in their push for the post season.
Outcome: 43-12 Tigers

Standings

Red DIV

1. GPAA Jaguars 1-0 (0-0)
2. FVAA Tigers 1-0 (0-0)
3. WFL Wildcats 0-1 (0-0)
4. LSAA Rangers 0-1 (0-0)
5. LSC Saints 0-1 (0-0)

Blue DIV

1. SWAA Hawks 1-0 (0-0)
2. MAA Tigers 1-0 (0-0)
3. NJSA Bobcats 1-0 (0-0)
4. NFAA Rams 0-1 (0-0)
5. CFL Knights 0-1 (0-0)

GJPW M DIV-I

Week 1 Results / Standings

The Midget level in D-I is basically a one team show. The GPAA Panthers are the elite team in this division. They have a group of kids that made it to nationals last season and some that made it to the S.E. regional title game as JMs. The best thing for GP is that they have been placed in a pretty strong division in which they should be tested each week in their quest to return to Disney. There is not a team in the other division at this point who will be strong enough to lay claim to the top spot in the Midget level.

FVAA Blackhawks @ NFAA Renegades This was a match-up of 2 teams that are on the cusp of the GJPW midget elite each year. This game was able to give a real assessment of where each team is currently at. The Renegades has a much easier road to the post season than the Blackhawks (IMO). This was a very good win for the Blackhawks.
Outcome: 8-6 Blackhawks

SWAA Eagles @ WFL Wildcats A good match-up between 2 teams of equal talent (though plenty would beg to differ). The Wildcats has a solid team but have the misfortune of playing in a very stacked division. The Eagles on the other hand hold their destiny in their own hands playing in a much weaker division&..they have a much stronger shot at the post season than the Wildcats.
Outcome: 8-0 Wildcats

NJSA Wildcats @ AFA Seminoles Point blank&&..AFA will be on the fast track back to D-II. They played above average in D-II and they are no match for the average teams in D-I. The win was a good one for the Wildcats but I do not see them with very many of them.
Outcome: 18-0 Wildcats

GPAA Panthers @ CFL Knights The Knights were not very good at midget last season and average (at best) at JM&&&&They will have an extremely long season. This was a basically an organized scrimmage that allowed the Panthers to 1. Play on a faster surface and 2. Work on getting better in some areas that they may have been weak. They will put up at least 5 running clocks this season (1 down 4 to go)
Outcome: 41-0 Panthers

LSAA Raiders @ PFAA Vipers Have the Raiders gotten themselves close to their 2008 form or is the Vipers really not that competitive? I would think the latter&&&I do believe that the Raiders are the num2 team at the Midget level (Rankings out tomorrow).
Outcome: 34-6 Raiders

MAA Tigers @ LSC Saints I was told that the Tigers had a few players from their championship teams&&they also had a team that gave GPAA a scare in the city championships. This team should be playing in the post season. The Saints are another team that was above average at D-II. They may want to look at going back to D-II as soon as possible. That is what NAA did&&&&&&&&&.
Outcome: 13-0 Tigers

Standings

Red DIV

1. GPAA Panthers 1-0 (0-0)
1. LSAA Raiders 1-0 (0-0)
1. WFL Wildcats 1-0 (0-0)
1. FVAA Blackhawks 1-0 (0-0)
5. LSC Saints 0-1 (0-0)
5. AFA Seminoles 0-1 (0-0)

Blue DIV

1. NJSA Wildcats 1-0 (0-0)
1. MAA Tigers 1-0 (0-0)
3. NFAA Rams 0-1 (0-0)
3. SWAA Eagles 0-1(0-0)
3. PFAA Vipers 0-1 (0-0)
3. CFL Knights 0-1 (0-0)

D-II

GJPW JRPW DIV-II

Week 1 Results / Standings

The D-II side is about as lopsided as the D-I side at the JPW level. Out of 3 divisions&..the powers that be have chosen not to even out the divisions (they want to give those teams less fortunate in talent a chance for the post season). With that being said&&&I will not report on the GREEN division since it will basically be a 2 team race and those 2 teams (NAA Cowboys and PCPW Saints Gold) should have been in the other 2 divisions anyway (that is just my opinion). Here are the results and standings from week 1 at JPW D-II.

SPAA Cougars @ CFL Scarlett Knights Match up of 2 teams that were solid last season. This was very good work for the Knights who has a very easy road to the playoffs. The Cougars get a good win to build its teams confidence.
Outcome: 12-8 Cougars

BYAA Bulls @ CFL Crimson Knights I hate to say it, but neither one of these teams have a shot in making the playoffs (the Bulls have a real slim chance). A win this season for either team is great achievement.
Outcome: 13-6 Crimson Knights

PCPW Saints Black @ NAA Colts The Colts are one of the preseason favorites at this level D-II. This game was their first of 6 home games (out of 7 games) this season. There was no surprise here. I wonder if they had to write a letter.
Outcome: 41-0 Colts

MAA Panthers @ PAL Enforcers Neither team is a big threat but the Enforcers have a strong shot at 2nd place in their Division and the Panthers have no real shot at a playoff berth&&.but anything is possible.
Outcome: 31-20 Panthers

FVAA Lions @ GPAA Eagles The Eagles will win the games that they should&&.but the big question is can they beat the stronger teams in their division. The Lions have a chance to make the post season in their very weak division.
Outcome: 20-6 Eagles

Standings

Gold Div

1. CFL Crimson Knights 0-1 (0-0)
1. BYAA Bulls 0-1 (0-0)
1. PAL Enforcers 0-1 (0-0)
1. FVAA Lions 0-1 (0-0)
1. PCPW Saints Black 0-1 (0-0)

Teal Div

1. NAA Colts 1-0 (0-0)
1. GPAA Eagles 1-0 (0-0)
1. MAA Panthers 1-0 (0-0)
1. CFL Crimson Knights 1-0 (0-0)
1. SPAA Cougars 1-0 (0-0)
6. SWAA Seahawks 0-0 (0-0)

GJPW PW DIV-II

Week 1 Results / Standings

The PW level for DIV-II is basically up for grabs. PCPW Gold, NAA Cowboys and SJSA Black Bears seem to be the early favorites with CFL and NJSA also looking to be major factors at the end of the season. There are no givens at this level&&the race to the post season will be really tight in the GREEN division. The teams in the Gold division would have trouble with about half of the JPW teams. There is only 1 favorite in the division.

BYAA Bulls @ NJSA Jaguars - The Bulls are a team that should probably be playing DIV-III. They are just that bad. I would be surprised if they did not have a running clock put on them every game. This game was not able to really test the Jags. One report shows a score of 52-14 and another score that shows 32-0. Does it really matter?
Outcome: 52-14 Jags

PCPW Saints Black @ SJSA Black Bears The Black Bears made noise last season at the JPW level just missing out at a playoff berth. The Saints Black was not very good at the JPW level and I am not sure that they will be any better at this level. If the Saints Black is the B team&&I can truly understand.
Outcome: 25-0 Black Bears

PCPW Saints Gold @ SPAA Panthers How far the mighty have fallen. Last season at JPW, SPAA (was ICAA) were the beast of D-II. They probably will not contend for the post season. The Gold were in the playoffs at both JPW and PW&&..and it showed Saturday. How long will they allow PCPW to stay D-II is the question.
Outcome: 20-0 Saints Gold

MAA Wildcats @ NAA Cowboys The NAA organization should have stayed D-I&&&.I am not impressed with this outcome (but that is another topic). The Wildcats are not very competitive at all.
Outcome: 36-0 Cowboys

SJSA Silver Bears @ CFL Scarlet Knights I am thinking that most people have given the CFL organization the benefit of the doubt at every level because of the success of last season&&&will the Cinderella story end as soon as it begin? They will make it to the playoffs due to a very week division. The Silver Bears are a middle of the road team that had not been very competitive in the past and they cannot go anywhere but up.
Outcome: 14-7 Knights

Standings

Green DIV

1. NAA Cowboys 1-0 (0-0)
1. PCPW Saints Gold 1-0 (0-0)
1. NJSA Jaguars 1-0 (0-0)
1. SJSA Black Bears 1-0 (0-0)
5. MAA Wildcats 0-1 (0-0)
5. SPAA Panthers 0-1 (0-0)

Gold DIV

1. CFL Scarlet Knights 1-0 (0-0)
2. PAL Enforcers 0-0 (0-0)
3. SJSA Silver Bears 0-1 (0-0)
3. PCPW Saints Black 0-1 (0-0)
3. BYAA Bulls 0-1 (0-0)

GJPW JM DIV-II

Week 1 Results / Standings

Another group with a large amount of doughnuts&.every game at the JM level for D-II ended in a blowout or better yet&&..every team that was host showed their hospitality by serving their visitor a nice tasty homemade doughnut. I believe that the top 4 teams will distance themselves from the rest of the pack as they jockey for playoff position.

VFL Panthers @ NJSA Jaguars The newly formed Panthers have a very long climb before they are considered a threat at any level. The Jags get a good win to boost team morale but the coaches know that they have not yet been tested.
Outcome: 32-0 Jags

SJSA Silver Bears @ SJSA Black Bears I guess we know who is the A ream in this one. I am also thinking that the talent gap is pretty wide between the 2 teams. The Black Bears should be an easy lock for the playoffs&&&the Silver Bears will have good battles with VFL and MAA.
Outcome: 29-0 Black Bears

PCPW Saints @ SPAA Tigers I would have thought that the Saints would have had a stronger showing since they were in the city championships at PW. The Tigers played how I thought their PW team would have played. The Tigers should also be in the playoffs when it is all said and done.
Outcome: 20-0 Tigers

MAA Wildcats @ NAA Cowboys The Cowboys completely dominated this game beginning at the weigh-in. The Cowboys are the favorite to take it all. The Wildcats will be overmatched in most of their games.
Outcome: 36-0 Cowboys

Standings

1. NAA Cowboys 1-0 (0-0)
1. NJSA Jaguars 1-0 (0-0)
1. SJSA Black Bears 1-0 (0-0)
1. SPAA Tigers 1-0 (0-0)
5. PCPW Saints Gold 0-1 (0-0)
5. SJSA Silver Bears 0-1 (0-0)
5. VFL Panthers 0-1 (0-0)
5. MAA Wildcats 0-1 (0-0)

Week 6

Jr. Pee Wee:

This weeks game Eastbay East vs. Oak Grove Rattlers 2-1-1, may have been closer than many expected at 14-0, but at the end of the day, a win is a win and a loss is a loss. On the otherhand, Coyote Creek, continues to impress, this week blanking Tri Cities Titans 27-0. while Coyote Creek takes on Tri Cities. I don't expect things to be difficult for either Eastbay or Coyote, unless there is some unexpected let down. Santa Clara ran through Tri Cities Ravens 32-0. That leaves 4 teams fighting for 3rd place at 4-2. I expect both Coyote Creek and Eastbay will win out ending the season undefeated at 8-0. Everything else will have to work itself out with the others vying for 3rd seed. Week 8 should be a big game for Santa Clara vs. Oak Grove Rattlers. I believed after watching most of the teams Coyote Creek is now the favorite to win this division out.

Pee Wee:

After a bit of a struggle last week, the Eastbay Wolfpack went right back to their old ways, this time easily beating OG Razorbacks 28-0. Hollister Vikings look to be a strong bet to take the second seed, as they are 5-1. There is a pretty strong team coming from the Greater Goldenn Gate Conference, Tri Cities Ravens put Santa Clara to the test by beating them handedly 20-0. The Ravens just might be a team to be reckoned with.

Jr. Midget:

What the happened???? Redwood City beats OG Renegades and then this week falls on its face vs. Hollister losing badly 34-6!!! This is now a division up for grabs or what, witht the top three teams at 5-1 entering this weekend. OG Renegades beat a decent Eastbay team 28-0 and Santa Clara beat Tri Cities Ravens 8-0. Now looks like no matter is OG wins out they will be in a coin toss for seeding with Hollister. This really is a division that has becomed scrammbled. Nevertheless, I still give the edge to OG to win this thing out. Vacaville Bengals are undefeated and looking very strong in the Golden Gate Confernce. It want be a free ride no matter who take the Peninsula Conference.

Midget:

Santa Clara at 5-0-1 still remains on top of this division, after dismantling Tri Cities Ravens. The game was never close or in doubt with Santa Clara winning 30-0. But the real news came from up north when OG Riders at 5-1 shut Eastbay out 28-0, dropping their record to 2-2-2. Meanwhile, Coyote Creek 4-0-2 was making noise as they blanked Tri Cities Titans 28-0, pushing their record to 3-2-1. With teams beating teams that beat teams that tied teams that lost to that team, makes this simply a very competitive division that on any given day any team can potentially beat the other. Up North, the San Francisco Jr. 49ers is rolling through the competition and will be a very formible opponent for whomever makes it through the peninsula conference championship.
